To be recognised as the leading provider of training for people engaged in the retail, sale, supply and distribution of animal health products and pesticides in Ireland

Our Aims

  • To deliver flexible learner-focused training designed to meet the needs of individuals employed in the agricultural, animal health and environmental sector.
  • To provide up to date, evidenced-based training programmes related to protection of human, animal and environmental health that help learners to impart knowledge to their employers and clients in accordance with national and EU legislation.
  • Provide a learning environment and resources that empowers, challenges and stimulates the learner.

2. Health & Safety Policy

We comply with relevant health and safety legislation and regulation. The Training Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of health and safety policies, procedures and practices. All members of staff, tutors and learners are made aware of their health and safety responsibilities at induction and through handbooks.

  • Safety statement (dated).
  • Hazard risks and assessments.
  • Fire drills in the training venues.
  • Regular inspection of equipment; lift, fire alarm system etc. in the training venues

3. Appeals & Complaints

We facilitate and encourage learners to talk to us if they consider an assessment result to be invalid or unfair or if they have a complaint about any aspect of the assessment process. The Learner Support Officer is responsible for coordinating complaints and appeals in accordance with our documented procedures, ensuring that learners are aware of and familiar with the procedures, and that the procedures are implemented fairly and effectively.

The Training Manager let the learners know about reviews, appeals and complaints at induction and they are also addressed in the learner handbook. We remind learners of the opportunity to appeal when the approved results are issued to them. The Learner Support Officer retains copies of complaints and appeals forms and correspondence with appellants/complainants

4. Info on QQI

Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) and the NFQ

QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) is the independent State agency responsible for promoting quality and accountability in education and training services in Ireland. It was established in 2012 by the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012.

What does QQI do?

  • Maintains the ten-level NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications).
  • Sets standards for awards made on the NFQ.
  • Validates education and training programmes.
  • Makes awards in the further education and higher education sectors.
  • Provides advice on recognition of foreign qualifications in Ireland and on the recognition of Irish qualifications abroad.
  • Publishes a directory of providers and awards in the NFQ.
  • Reviews the effectiveness of quality assurance in further and higher education and training providers in Ireland.
  • Authorises the use of an International Education Mark.
